on the other hand this command is magic, it stops running greifers in RA who like to run around the entire map
if the team members don't like there own members being a moron, they can type /resign, and its game over for him
perfect example for me today:
come up against a person with only running skills and desides to give people grief, but being new to factions skillset, i didnt bring a snare, i always incorperate snare of somekind in my builds for this very reason, i also take a wand to gain adrenaline, but i didnt have both, match went on for 30 mins, this person wasn't going to give up, but his fellow teammates were getting impatient with him, and i quitely pm'd to type /resign, they happily all typed it and the match was over for him, i could only imagine the person who brought running skills to give people greif, only to lose to a simple command, would smash his pc in rage lol. anyway walked out of RA with a big smile, and had to tell the world how shamed this person was

Did I miss the rule on this? I believe it makes more sense to get the morale boost when you NEED it instead of waste it. If everyone has died on your team, has DP, no rez sigs left, by all means rush their freakin hero to get your dp relieved and rezes back - why waste if in the chance you might need it somewhere along the battle where the tides have turned.
I must agree - it's not an exploit, it's just poor sportsmenship.
Ahh well. It's essentially equivalent to ragequitting when people do this. The sooner people realize that can't always win the sooner they can be set free into the world with real people. Look at it as their only training grounds for future social interaction.
Edit: Added the bolded words, since sarcasm detectors come in various degrees of accuracy. If it still needs clarified even more - don't even bother.

If you're looking at GW as even a potential tool for training to social interaction I don't know what to say to you.

Obviously it's not a potential tool for reading comprehension - you've just proved that.

this is nonsense. There are no "rules" on the ghostly hero killing time. There is however an INTENTION with it. The ghostly hero is INTENDED to be something you have to protect and gives a moral boost during the fight. it is NOT INTENDED for you to hold one person alive when the match is clearly over and then kill the ghost and then kill the other team, HOWEVER it is not against the rules. It is also not against the rules to rage quite or resign when you have lost the fight. you have NO RIGHT to kill the ghostly hero, only OPPORTUNITY. the opportunity is determined SOLELY by the other team. even if you want to kill it in the match they can heal him, you complaining about the resign command is equivalent to you complaining about a team healing their ghostly when you try to kill it mid match. A team can protect a ghostly hero any way they want.
again you have NO RIGHT to kill their ghostly hero only opportunity.
you coming here to complain about this instead of just killing the hero when 4 are left alive, which is a match that is equally over as when 1 is left alive, is the very definition of a palyer who does not play to win but makes up his own rules to the game that he plays within and then expects everyone else to as well. It really doesnt matter if you get a moral boost or not because you have artificially limited your success at this game by not playing to win.
at no point in this post did i use sarcasm or anything similar to that

1) Well said by icemonkey.
2) I find the people that leave one person alive in the attempt to hall jump is a far worse offense. The resigned command makes this easier to deal with.
3) And I love that this can be used in other arenas to deal with the dang runners. Even with a snare, a true built to run can be a real pain to bring down. And for those that got teamed with that non-team player (the words I want to use would get censored) should be all to happy to help bring him down.

Sorry for being a little bit off-topic...
How could /resign help against griefers in RA ?
I thought that ALL players on a team need to /resign. at least in GvG you need the 8 /resign before it does anything.

Playing chess, people resign all the time when they expect to lose. It saves time and face, and in my opinion, is a noble way to concede defeat. If you want to clear up your death penalty in HA, either hold the altar, or don't die.

Its even happening in RA too!
I was getting ready for battle, after 9 wins in a row, ready to kick some arse.
When somebody on the other team typed /resign...the other team wasnt so sure of themselves and they were very hesitant in attacking. Of course we finished them in less than a minute. I wasnt really sad there but I wouldve really hated it if that was MY team!
